The benefits of…Ginger

Posted by sipdrinkblog on Oct 06 2009 | SIP

  1. We here at sip offer 4 delicious flavoured waters that taste great but also have ingredients with known skin and health benefits. But what exactly are those benefits? In the following post we will break down the ingredients we have put into our lovely little bottles and explain exactly what these things can do for you so you know exactly why we chose them to put into sip.

Before we start it is important to note that although the holistic approach to health is becoming more popular and better known it is not meant to be a total replacement for prescription drugs of which there are sometimes no alternative. In these posts we aim to explain a little more about the remedies, herbs and antioxidants in sip.

We are taking a closer look at the lovely ginger extract that we have in our delicious lemongrass & ginger sip:

We love ginger here at sip, whether it’s to help with digestion after lunch, get you kick started in the morning (particularly great when you are suffering a hangover!) or to soothe a pregnany tummy. Super ginger has been used as a medicine in Asian, India, and Arabic herbal traditions since ancient times. In China, for example, ginger has been used to aid digestion and treat stomach upset, diarrhea, and nausea for more than 2,000 years.

And even today health care professionals commonly recommend Ginger to help prevent or treat nausea and vomiting associated with motion sickness, pregnancy, and cancer chemotherapy. It is also used as a digestive aid for mild stomach upset, as support in inflammatory conditions such as arthritis, and may even be used in heart disease or cancer.

So there you have it - not only does it taste fabulous it’s a pretty powerful ingredient too.
