The benefits of…Elderflower

Posted by sipdrinkblog on Nov 03 2009 | SIP

  1. We here at sip offer 4 delicious flavoured waters that taste great but also have ingredients with known skin and health benefits. But what exactly are those benefits? In the following posts we will break down the ingredients we have put into our lovely little bottles and explain exactly what these things can do for you so you know exactly why we chose them to put into sip

Today we are focusing on Elderflower sip:

The Elder plant has been used for four thousand years and is reportedly the oldest herb cultivated by man. Many herbal sites and books refer to the elder as the ‘medicine chest of the country folk.’

Elderflower’s have been traditionally used as detox and to build the immune systems by clearing toxins though the lymph glands. Elderflower was also used to treat asthmatics in the days before modern medicine, and is known to sooth the respiratory tract.

During the summer months elderflower concentrate (which we use in our lovely sip drinks) was used to relieve the symptoms of allergies to pollens etc.

We think Elderflower sip tastes fabulous served ice cold!
