The benefits of… Lemongrass

Posted by sipdrinkblog on Sep 29 2009 | SIP

  1. We here at sip offer 4 delicious flavoured waters that taste great but also have ingredients with known skin and health benefits. But what exactly are those benefits? In the following post we will break down the ingredients we have put into our lovely little bottles and explain exactly what these things can do for you so you know exactly why we chose them to put into sip.

Before we start it is important to note that although the holistic approach to health is becoming more popular and better known it is not meant to be a total replacement for prescription drugs of which there are sometimes no alternative. In these posts we aim to explain the benefits of the remedies, herbs and antioxidants in sip.

First up is the lovely ‘lemongrass’ which is found in our zingy Lemongrass & Ginger sip:

Lemongrass has been found to help alleviate the symptoms from the common cold and flu, reduce fevers and cramps as well aid digestion. Citral is the main element in lemongrass which is what gives it that lovely fresh lemon scent and research at Ben Gurion University has revealed that a daily intake of 1000mg of citral can help repress cancer cells as well as help battle depression - that is one powerful ingredient!

Lemongrass & Ginger sip is particularly helpful to perk you up in the morning (or after the night before!) or after lunch. Lemongrass is known to work very well in children to aid digestion and many of our ‘mums to-be’ sip drinkers have found Lemongrass & Ginger sip helps to alleviate tummy aches and cramps associated with pregnancy as well as tasting great and still natural too - perfect!

Thanks to e-how for their fabulous information
