London Fashion Week turned 25 this year - and what a celebration it has been! The shows have been fantastic, the coverage gripping and the colour purple signaled as one of the key colours of the season.

In amongst the hype and excitement of LFW I was lucky enough to win a competition with The Independent in association with Blackberry and the Carphone Warehouse - tickets to the wonderful Richard Nicoll a super fashionable purple Blackberry curve phone, some purple tights from Topshop and Nails Inc purple nail polish (its all about purple this season darling!)

Here is a photo of my new Blackberry Curve 8520 Violet phone and limited edition Richard Nicoll blackberry pouch. The show was amazing with Richard getting a HUGE (deserved) round of applause and standing ovation after the show.

Wow… we can hardly contain our excitment here at sip headquarters (well our little office with Kate and I)

We will be heading to a few shows and parties over the week bringing you the backstage gossip and showing you some of the great collections. I have a small number of (lucky!) lovely friends who will be heading to loads more shows so I’ll be sure to send you links to their coverage of the fabulous 25th birthday.

Today we are heading out to Bora Aksu who names his three inspiring things for s/s 2019 as being:
“Oscar Wilde’s The Happy Prince, prom dresses at the end of the night and a Jimi Hendrix jacket.”

When Londonfashionweek.co.uk asked him what his collection was all about this season his answer was “Romantism with a darker edge.” - we are very excited to see that so be sure to check back.

This evening we will be heading out to 2 parties celebrating London Fashion Week (phew! - no complaining here though) so check back for the details on those this weekened.

London, 22 September - on top of the delightful but bonkers weather (which makes you wonder whether the ’seasonal’ collection has had its day) we now get to muse over what we might be wearing come spring/summer 09 now that LFW is over.  And pretty soon we will get a glimpse of the new season’s makeup too - trust us, by the time spring comes around the novelty factor will have worn off dark berry lipcolours and you will be longing for soft pink again.  sip had a ringside seat at LFW as usual, providing refreshment at shows by Todd Lynn, Emilio de la Morena, Peter Jensen, Unique and Chris Kane.  So we snuck in backstage and got some backstage titbits which we will be sharing with you over the coming weeks. 

 Here are a couple to keep you going: MAC - who did makeup for lots of the shows - provide a look book for their makeup artists to follow while they work to keep the maquillage consistent ..
