Whether its how great Isle of Wight was or getting excited about your first time at Glastonbury there is no escaping it….festival season has begun!

As well as the line-up, the hot topic is all about what to take. We here at sip are going to Glastonbury in 10 days - Kate’s a regular whereas it’s my first time so as well as scouring the web I asked Kate for her do’s and don’ts and here are her top picks:

do…

  • drink lots of water like sip - it’s naturally flavoured so tastes great and is full of skin-friendly antioxidants and botanical extracts which will at least help to balance out the burger and fries. Once your done keep your bottle and fill it up with water to keep you hydrated
  • get there as early as you can - Fighting your way through Friday evenings colossal queues and tring to find a square centimeter of space spare to pitch your tent is not fun
  • go with people you know you can trust - festivals like Glasto are huge and there is a 100% chance you will get lost so make sure you are always have a friend by your side - its more important that taking your wellies (and wellies are hugely important!)
  • take wellies, wet wipes, antibacterial gel and toilet roll - no explanation needed!
  • remember where you pitched your tent - attach a flag of some kind to your tent that is recognisable even in the early hours

dont…

  • forget sunscreen - we all know that even when it’s overcast you can get burnt so don’t forget to lather up, plus it can be really drying to your skin being outside all day so it doubles up as moisturiser
  • forget your torch - the last thing you want to do is wander into someone elses tent (or worse) whilst trying to find your own
  • drink too much during the day - Mixmag (may issue) summed it up perfectly; although this hint sounds boring and sensible drinking too much alcohol throughout the day will inevitably result is you missing your fave band, falling alseep in the sun followed by sunburn and dehydration or throwing up… so take a tip from Mixmag and wait for the sunset to enjoy the free flowing alcohol - nice and cold!
  • take too much food - you can buy almost everything at Glastonbury (its just twice the price most of the time) and food will be heavy so take a few staples like nuts, crisps, dried fruit which you can nibble when you need to

enjoy the festival season!
