British and Delicious!
It must be the onset of the sun but there is no doubt ‘Rule Britannia’ style is everywhere at the moment and has been for a while. We here at sip are very proud of our British heritage - all of our products are lovingly made right here in Great Britain using British ingredients (and Kate and I are British too!) so in light of that we wanted to share some of our favourites things we’ve seen from sandwiches to shoes; Marks & Spencer’s new range of British lunch time goodies take us back; salad cream in a sandwhich and some good old victoria sandwhich sponge cake.
Chanel have released their London Madness Range (above) which features the most perfect pillar box red lipstick and polish. Check it out at Selfridges now.
Topshop are still flying the flag with their Rule Britannia themed clothes - this new skirt, £40 looks great with a white t-shirt. Picnics are the epitome of Britishness - and a totally great alternative to going out- Londoners can do it in style with Harvey Nichols wine & cheese accompaniment gift box (don’t forget you can pick up sip in Harvey Nichols too!) - all you need is a hamper, little bit of sun and some grass to sit on!
We spotted this ’spontaneous picnic dress’ online and thought it deserved a mention
I read a lovely blog entitiled ‘you know you’re British when…’ so here are the best bits:
You know you’re British when…
- A day at the beach means wearing the warmest clothes you own while standing on golf ball-size pebbles and the thought of swimming doesn’t even enter your head.
- A sunny lunchtime means searching for a patch of grass and stripping off practically down to your underwear
- You’ve accepted queuing as a way of life.In fact you’re proud of how good you are at it.
- Coming to work with a hangover is entirely accepted and indeed expected at least once a week.
If you have any more let us know!
sip happy x
