Water is good for you!

Posted by sipdrinkblog on Dec 10 2009 | SIP

As if we had to tell you that but there are still some people out there that don’t believe it… so we’ve been on our own personal mission to share as much research as we can - we also have a little idea for those are still aren’t sure… try replacing a coffee or sugary drink with water every day for  a week and see how you feel, or if water doesn’t do it for you that’s where sip comes in! You can get sip from selected Holland & Barrett and Waitrose stores or online at Ocado

We read this great page from Deeside water’s website recently: have a read here

Does drinking water really help your skin glow?

Posted by sipdrinkblog on Nov 23 2009 | Health

A question we (and many of the other water brands) get asked every now and then when someone releases an article stating that water ‘may not be good for you’… it’s been an argument that has been going on for years - a nutritionist will come out and say that there isnt any firm evidence water helps your skin….firm being the all important word as there isnt any firm evidence it doesnt either (and the two of us loved and believed in the power of water before working here)

Having looked through some of the more recent articles we would absolutely back their theories that a good diet and sun-screen are also major factors to younger more glowing skin but there is enough counter evidence to suggest that drinking water (rather than sugar filled drinks) everyday can only be good for you.

As well as containing water, sip has a number of antioxidants and extracts that have ‘known’ benefits for the skin but at the end of the day, sip is healthy and if you like drinking it, then enjoy it whatever the scientists say!  Speaking from experience, I know that I feel awful if I don’t drink enough water each day – so they can say all they want about it working or not working, we love water, it works for us and we love having sip as an alternative to coffee or sugary drinks and when you just want something a little more exciting than water.

Since writing this blog we found another article that brings up the topic well - it’s an interesting read and we believe its fair to get both sides of the debate so check it out here:

Get some texture this season

Posted by sipdrinkblog on Nov 03 2009 | Fashion, Trends, beauty

Here in our little sip office we are huge fans of Grazia daily, the daily feed from Grazia Magazine, and they’ve been hero-ing texture as this seasons must have - on everything from clothes to hair and seen on everyone from Fearne Cotton to Dannii Minogue to Megan Fox.

We have to agree that a little bit of texture goes a long way - taking straight hair from flat to fab. You could create warmth and femininity ala Victoria Beckham

or add an 80s kick with crimping tongs ala Danni Minogue.

When it comes to texture and clothes you cant go wrong with a little bit of high street. Think soft suede, slinky leather and rich velvet in a whole host of colours and styles. H&M have some incredible faux fur coats (#1 below) and gillets, Topshop have a never-ending number of cardigans, tights (image #2 below), skirts (see image #3 Ostrich Skirt below) and jumpers where texture is king. Zara are vamping things up with their Autumn/Winter range featuring fur, leather and feathers. And of course, All Saints never fail to deliver an array of texture-ful beauties. Keep it simple with a statement piece and you’ll have texture perfection.

get yourself a little bit of yasmin le bon at Wallis

Posted by sipdrinkblog on Sep 29 2009 | Fashion, SIP

We here at sip have always adored Yasmin Le Bon and the Le Bons overall - we even followed her daughter Amber (one of three of her gorgeous daughters) as she was tweeting live backstage as a model at London Fashion Week this year, and whenever we’ve met Yasmin (see below with sip!)…

…she has always been wonderfully turned out and gets more and more achingly beautiful each time we see her! When we heard about her line with Wallis we knew it would ooze everything that makes Yasmin so wonderful - and we were right; mature and chic yet still maintaining an edgy rock & roll feel. Her line features long lean gowns, chic high-neck blouses and a striking vintage-feel jewellery collection that really stands out on the high street at the moment.

In the Guardian interview she explained; “I’m obsessed with high-neck things. You’re covered up but it’s sexy, and I’ve always loved long dresses. Covering up can be a lot sexier than being uncovered. My body has changed, so feeling comfortable and confident, while accentuating the bits that are OK, is important.”

She also admitted that she was finding the transition from model to designer daunting but we think the collection is perfect for the modern woman and she looks better than ever modelling it.
