Backstage Diaries: Louise Goldin

Posted by sipdrinkblog on Feb 26 2009 | About sip

The words, ‘Knitwear,’ ‘Armour’ and ‘Luxury’  may not sound like the kind of combination people immediately think of but this year we saw some fantastic clothing in just that style as we were backstage hanging out with the team for Louise Goldin.

Louise Goldin has really embraced the knit  - her A/W 09 collection was all black and woven together with black leather and fur. Beautifully structured silhouettes which would actually look great in real life. No longer do jumpers just mean keeping warm and cosying up, the luxury knit is here and we like!

Backstage at Louise Goldrin Models were made up to look artifical and robotic with the L’Oreal hair team creating hairstyles which were long and fixed with all sorts of great fixing sprays. The hair emulated the head stylists own with the addition of a strategically placed blunt fake fringe acting as a futuristic ‘visor.’ Louise’s looks were structured and robotic, channeling an artificial feel (think Bladerunner.) Flashes of royal blue adourned the eyes of the models giving a funky eye-wear look.

sip enjoyed the show - we got chatting to one of the super gorgeous models who was enjoying sip so we uploaded a video of her doing her thing - take a look!

London Fashion Week asked Louise ‘What is inspiring you at the moment?’ “Eskimos, the Arctic and Mars.”

Backstage Diaries: Krystof Stozyna & Emilio de la Morena

Posted by sipdrinkblog on Feb 26 2009 | SIP

It’s Sunday and sip are still going strong travelling around the London Fashion Week shows. We headed to the Science Museum for the next show - a combined Krystof Strozyna & Emilio de la Morena show in the temporary exhibition space. As kids ran happily around the Science Museum we were hanging out backstage watching the hair & make-up team do what they do best.

We spotted one of the gorgeous MAC make-up artists drinking sip so we went to speak to her about sip and London Fashion Week. Her name was Cher Webb;

“I love sip - I always drink loads here at London Fashion Week since it’s so refreshing!”

When asked what her favourite sip was she smiled and said she liked them all - now that’s what I call a sip fan!

Cher explained that the key to perfect make-up is tools, “…having the right brushes is essential, MAC do really great brushes and you can get so many great effects just by using the right brush.”

Backstage Diaries: Christopher Kane

Backstage at Christopher Kane the atmosphere was electric. The passion of the young scottish designer, the star of Topshop’s New Generation, was clear and he had clearly rubbed off on everyone involved. With news that the front row would be heaving with the it-crowd of the fashion world the heat was on to make this a show to remember, and Kane did not disappoint.

The fabulous Robin Sinha from www.studiof27.com assisted sip with the photography catching some classics - check out our facebook page to see the whole collection.

We at sip watched happily backstage as models walked past drinking sip and looking fantastic in futuristic dresses made from layers of tulle and velvet -clean cut and simple, just the way we like it! Then we headed out to watch the show and caught up with the ever so beautiful Twiggy and Erin O’Connor as well as rubbing elbows with Kanye West.

His collection started with simple lines and muted tones slowly morphing into the most striking organza and vinyl creations adorned with lines of ribbon - almost hypnotising.

Backstage Diaries: Nathan Jenden

Posted by sipdrinkblog on Feb 22 2009 | SIP

The elegant Home House was the venue for our second show - Nathan Jenden. Although it was small the surroundings were beautiful and Nathan’s collection really showcased his talents for tailoring.

His collection featured tiered evening dresses made from the most delicate white silk, ultra-sharp pointed shoulders, sleek black dresses made with inside-out seams.
