sip finds a new home at the Lexi Cinema

London, 30 October 2008 - and here’s the other big news for west Londoners (well, north west Londoners): Pinkham Lighthouse - the Lexi Cinema is the most beautiful new art movie-house. Originally an Edwardian theatre (complete with trap door in the middle of the stage), it then became a pool hall and now - thanks to some tireless work by some close friends of sip - it’s Kensal Rise’s new treasure complete with comfy seats and an adorable bar (another new home for sip). We went to the opening night to see the Coen brother’s must-see Burn After Reading, and have already been back to see Kristin Scott Thomas in her critically acclaimed role in I’ve Loved You So Long. We can see ourselves spending quite a few nights in the Lexi this season .. check out the website www.pinkhamlighthouse.co.uk to see the fixtures - and enjoy the fact that, as a dedicated social enterprise concern, 100% of the profits from the Lexi are covenanted to charity - in this case the development of an eco-village in south Africa, the Sustainability Institute. London, 31 November 2008 - west London was the place to be yesterday when Westfield, the uber-huge shopping centre, opened its doors for the first time and WOW what an experience! While TV, radio and print journalists (including shop queen Mary Portas) knocked back sip in the media suite, shophounds went mad in the massive new retail space. sip was also there to rehydrate shoppers at Oasis, in the White Light Skin Clinic and at the lunchtime pitstop EAT. WHEN (not if) you go, check out Beauty Base, a brilliant new beauty concept store selling premium fragrance and skincare brands, Topshop (obviously) and All Saints - their windows (see pic) were the best ever!

London, 30 October 2008 - we’re excited to be taking part in the opening of the new Westfield centre in west London. sip will be served in Oasis’ fab new shop in the centre, and in the media lounge fridge. See you there!
London, 22 October 2008 - we got a sneak preview of British designer Suzanne Neville’s beautiful new couture dress collection recently when sip was called in to keep guests (including TV faces Rissy Mitchell, Cindy Jackson and Anneck Svenska) refreshed. Suzanne’s creations are so luxurious they are mouthwatering, and she is about to open a third shop (alongside London and Guildford) in Wilmslow. So if you fancy a bit of fantasy window-shopping - or are getting married - get yourself to her showroom or have a look at the collection online at suzanneneville.com.
